The City of Muskogee has totally cut all funding for Coins 4 Critters and now charging us an adoption fee to take animals from the shelter before euthanization. We are going to continue to help our community as best we can. We won't be able to take as many animals from the shelter. We probably won't be able to take any owner surrenders (unless the animal is already spayed/neutered) or the owner can foster it until we can find it a new home. We were only given a 5 hour notice by the City of Muskogee and were completely blindsided. We had no way to prepare to argue for the critters. It wouldn't have mattered anyway because there was no debate. We were simply told.

We have had to reduce the number of spays and neuters we can financially assist. We are committed to doing all we can to keep the low/cost spays and neuters affordable to those who cannot afford the regular prices. We are also going to try our best to keep adoption fees as low as possible.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

sponsorship: Help sponsor an animal by donating money for us to use to help spay/neuter animals whose owners cannot afford to pay the entire cost themselves. You can donate it in the name of your business, your name, or anonymously.

donations: can come in many forms. We need food, crates, new or used blankets, sleeping bags, towels, bowls, toys--anything to keep the costs on our foster homes to a minimum and help comfort homeless animals.

fostering: We can't save any animals without foster homes. If you have a little extra love to give in your home please consider fostering an animal awaiting his/her forever home.

new adoption fees for 2009 are as follows:

cats & kittens: $10-35

purebred puppies-$65--$150

mixed breed puppies--$35-$65

purebred adults--$45--$125 (depending on age, breed, etc)

mixed adults--$30-$85

Our goal for 2009 is 1,000 spays and neuters.
